Police guard training academy (PGSTA) is established to provide a flagship of value based resource and knowledge /field base training for aspiring security officers. We also provide continuous training for security officers in DMV area.

Basic Eligibility Check List for Training Class Enrollment.
- You must be at least 18 years old
- You must be certified, to qualify as an unarmed security guard in Maryland and in many other state.
- You must be a U.S citizen or a green card holder (or have work permit), compulsorily for DC, you must be a citizen.
- You must agree to randomly succumb to drug tests.
- You must be ready to surrender to both fingerprinting and criminal background check.
SECURITY GUARD TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
Trainees will be instructed on the following: OC, Baton, and Handcuffing Certifications.
DC SPO & SO
Trainees will be instructed on the following: OC, Baton and Handcuffing Certifications
HANDCUFFING AND BATON
Officers will receive basic instruction of the functionality of the hand cuffs and expandable baton, as well as techniques on how to deploy and use these tools while on duty effectively.
BASIC OC
This course instructs officer in the defensive tactics and field decontamination techniques to be used when carrying Oleoresin Capsicum "OC."
FIREARMS
The firearms training course can be as short as ten hours. Officers will get the NRA's The Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook and intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, the various types of pistols (semi-automatic & revolvers), the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, various pistol firing positions, several practical exercises on the firing range, cleaning, storage, and a summary of pistol sports and activities.
